Producer Nidhi Dutta has shared an emotional note on the release of the reimagined patriotic song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’, calling it a deeply personal tribute to her father, veteran filmmaker JP Dutta, and the brave soldiers of India. The song, recreated for the upcoming film Border 2, revives one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic anthems nearly 29 years after it first touched millions of hearts.
In her heartfelt message, Nidhi Dutta recalled that the original song ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ was created by an extraordinary team comprising JP Dutta, lyricist Javed Akhtar, composer Anu Malik, and singers Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod. She described the track as a timeless creation born out of genius, emotion, and deep respect for the armed forces.
Emphasizing her careful approach, Nidhi Dutta made it clear that the new version does not attempt to change what she called “beyond perfect.” Instead, she said the song has been re-envisioned to add more stories of soldiers and their families—stories of waiting, longing, and emotional strength—while preserving the soul of the original composition.
She highlighted that although the song now reflects new characters and narratives from Border 2, the emotions remain unchanged. According to her, the lyrics still echo the same heartache and hope, carried forward by the immortal melody that made the original song a symbol of patriotism and sacrifice.
Calling the project both professional and personal, Nidhi Dutta described herself as “just a daughter trying to take her father’s legacy forward and make him proud.” She acknowledged the strong creative team backing the song but stressed that, at its core, the track is a tribute dedicated to her father and the Indian Armed Forces.
Expressing hope for audience acceptance, she wished that listeners would connect with the new version just as deeply as they have with the original over the years.
